اَلْاِنْشِقَاقِ
Splitting Open

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ۔

اِذَا السَّمَآءُ انْشَقَّتْ۔ وَ اَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَ حُقَّتْ۔ وَ اِذَا الْاَرْضُ مُدَّتْ۔ وَ اَلْقَتْ مَا فِيْهَا وَ تَخَلَّتْ۔ وَ اَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَ حُقَّتْ۔ؕ يٰٓاَيُّهَا الْاِنْسَانُ اِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلٰقِيْهِ۔ فَاَمَّا مَنْ اُوْتِيَ كِتٰبَهُ بِيَمِيْنِهٖ۔ فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَّسِيْرً۔ وَّ يَنْقَلِبُ اِلٰٓى اَهْلِهٖ مَسْرُوْرًا۔ؕ وَ اَمَّا مَنْ اُوْتِيَ كِتٰبَهُ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهٖ۔ فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوْا ثُبُوْرًا۔ وَّ يَصْلٰى سَعِيْرًا۔ؕ اِنَّهُ كَانَ فِيْٓ اَهْلِهٖ مَسْرُوْرًا۔ؕ اِنَّهُ ظَنَّ اَنْ لَّنْ يَّحُوْرَ۔ بَلٰٓی اِنَّ رَبَّهُ كَانَ بِهٖ بَصِيْرًا۔ؕ فَلَآ اُقْسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِ۔ وَ الَّيْلِ وَ مَا وَسَقَ۔ وَ الْقَمَرِ اِذَا اتَّسَقَ۔ لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنْ طَبَقٍ۔ؕ فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ۔ وَ اِذَا قُرِیَٔ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقُرْاٰنُ لَا يَسْجُدُوْنَ۔ؕ بَلِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا يُكَذِّبُوْنَ۔ وَ اللّٰهُ اَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوْعُوْنَ۔ فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ اَلِيْمٍ۔ اِلَّا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ اَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُوْنٍ۔

In the name of God—the most compassionate, the most merciful.

When the sky will split open and listen to its Lord as it ought to, suddenly the earth will flatten out, and throw up whatever it contains, and fall back empty; and (also) listen to its Lord as it ought to!

Everyman, you are toiling constantly for your Lord, and you will meet Him! Anyone who is given his book in his right hand will be called to account with an easy reckoning, and return joyfully to his family; while anyone who is given his book behind his back will appeal to be blotted out and will roast in the Blaze.

He used to be happy with his own people; he supposed he would never revert [to God]. Nevertheless his Lord had still been Observing him!

So I swear by the gloaming, and night and whatever it enshrouds, and the moon when it blossoms full, you shall ride along stage by stage.

What is wrong with them that they do not believe? When the Koran is read to them, why do they not bow down on their knees? Instead, those who disbelieve keep on rejecting while God is quite Aware of how they are holding back.

Give them news of painful torment, except for those who believe and perform honorable deeds; they will have payment which will never be withheld.

This is one of the earlier pictures of Doomsday, but the message is not esoteric or hidden. The language in fact is clear and simple even for an apocalyptic vision.

Whatever is related here about Doomsday refers apparently to an unknown world. However, such evidence exists as points to its veracity. An example of this is the present world itself. The very existence of the world proves that another similar or different world may come into existence. Furthermore, certain extraordinary aspects of the Koran prove that it is the Book of God. In spite of such clear indications, there are those who do not believe in the Hereafter and live out their lives without ever taking it into account. Such individuals are certainly committing a crime which is deserving of the punishment mentioned above.
