اَلْبُرُوْجِ
Constellations

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ۔

وَ السَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوْجِ۔ وَ الْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُوْدِ۔ وَ شَاهِدٍ وَّ مَشْهُوْدٍ۔ؕ قُتِلَ اَصْحٰبُ الْاُخْدُوْدِ۔ النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُوْدِ۔ اِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُوْدٌ۔ وَّ هُمْ عَلٰى مَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ شُهُوْدٌ۔ؕ وَ مَا نَقَمُوْا مِنْهُمْ اِلَّآ اَنْ يُّؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَزِيْزِ الْحَمِيْدِ۔ الَّذِيْ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ ؕ وَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيْدٌ۔ؕ اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوْبُوْا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَ لَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيْقِ۔ؕ اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنّٰتٌ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ؕ ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيْرُ۔ؕ اِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيْدٌ۔ؕ اِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَ يُعِيْدُ۔ وَ هُوَ الْغَفُوْرُ الْوَدُوْدُ۔ ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيْدُ۔ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيْدُ۔ؕ هَلْ اَتٰىكَ حَدِيْثُ الْجُنُوْدِ۔ فِرْعَوْنَ وَ ثَمُوْدَ۔ؕ بَلِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فِيْ تَكْذِيْبٍ۔ وَّ اللّٰهُ مِنْ وَّرَآىِٕهِمْ مُّحِيْطٌ۔ بَلْ هُوَ قُرْاٰنٌ مَّجِيْدٌ۔ فِيْ لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوْظٍ۔

In the name of God—the most compassionate, the most merciful.

By the sky holding constellations and the promised day, and a witness plus his evidence, the diggers of the Trench will be slain!

The fire was full of fuel as they were crouching over it, and themselves were witnesses of what they were doing to believers. They persecuted them merely because they believed in God, the Powerful, the Praiseworthy, Who holds control over Heaven and Earth. God is a Witness for everything!

Those who harass believing men and women, then do not repent, will have Hell's torment; they will have the torment of burning. The ones who believe and perform honorable deeds will have gardens through which rivers flow; that will be the great Achievement.

Nevertheless your Lord's onslaught will be severe; He is the One Who originates [matters], then repeats them all over again. He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, Possessor of the Majestic Throne, Doer of anything He wants.

Has the report on the armies ever come to you, about Pharaoh and Thamud? Rather those who disbelieve [persist] in denial while God comes sweeping in behind them.

Still it is a majestic Reading [preserved] on a guarded tablet!

The chapter concerns the Christians who lived in the Najran highlands to the south of the Hijaz, north of Yemen and east of the Red Sea before Islam; they were massacred by Dhu-Nuwas, a Jewish king of Yemen, by being burned alive in the year 570 A.D., when the Prophet had just been born.

The perfect organization of the system of the universe ensures that the Day of Final Judgement will come. Tidings of this very Day have been given by all the prophets and their true deputies. In spite of this, those who do not accept the Truth and even become the enemies of the preachers of the Truth, indulge in such aggressiveness and arrogance that they cannot save themselves from the dreadful consequences. However, those who give a positive response to the call for Truth, in spite of different kinds of difficulties, will receive the greatest possible reward from Merciful God.

Of all the revealed scriptures, the Koran is an exceptionally protected book. This is a sign of the fact that the Koran is in the special care of God. Right till Doomsday there is no possibility of its being suppressed by anyone. For details, see the book ‘Quran an Abiding Wonder.’
